Josh Charles, who was shockingly killed off The Good Wife last year, is a new dad. He and his wife Sophie Flack welcomed their first child, a son, on December 9. Charles, who was raised in his father’s Jewish faith, married ballet dancer Flack, whose mother is Jewish, in September 2013.
With little fanfare, the very private Joseph Gordon-Levitt married tech exec Tasha McCauley on December 20. The Inception and Dark Knight Rises star, who is Jewish, wed the robotics company founder, whose religion and much else, is unknown, at the home they share. The actor will take another big step, literally, in his next role as highwire daredevil Philippe Petit in The Walk, which hits theaters in October.
Former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass married artist Michael Turchin on December 20 in Los Angeles in a non-denominational ceremony officiated by their friends, actresses Jamie-Lynn Sigler and JoAnna Garcia Swisher. The wedding incorporated elements reflecting Bass’ Southern Baptist and Turchin’s Jewish heritage, including the traditional Hora. “We wanted our wedding to be full of elements that we grew up with,” Bass said. E! filmed the festivities for a special called Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding, which will air on February 5.
The new Bruce Willis thriller Vice (January 16), in which people act out dangerous fantasies with androids, co-stars Bryan Greenberg as a robotics designer. Greenberg, (Friends with Benefits) who will also appear with Queen Latifah in HBO’s Bessie Smith bio Bessie this spring, is Jewish and in an interfaith relationship with fiancée Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time).
