Amy Schumer is going to be a parent! Schumer was raised by her Jewish father and mother who converted to Judaism, and married chef Chris Fischer, who is not Jewish, in February. She first broke the news of her pregnancy on Instagram and has been joking about it on social media and in the press, telling the Los Angeles Times, “Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father. I look forward to competing with [Megan] Markle every step of the way.”

But Schumer’s subsequent posts were not a laughing matter. Reacting to the horrific news of the anti-Semitic Pittsburgh shooting on October 27, she tweeted, “My heart is broken for the victims and loved ones of everyone affected by the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.” The city is the eighth stop on her stand-up comedy tour, which kicks off November 2 in Las Vegas. When snarky blogger Perez Hilton wrote, “Her career has stalled,” Schumer responded on Twitter, pointing out that she is “touring all of November and January” and advised him not to “assume we disappear when we are pregnant. Quite the opposite.”

Our belated congrats go to Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz, who is engaged to actor Karl Glusman, but only revealed the news recently in a Rolling Stone interview. “I wanted to keep it private,” she said.

Kravitz, the daughter of rocker-actor Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, has two Jewish grandparents—her maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather—and identifies as Jewish. Glusman is German-Jewish on his father’s side and Irish on his mother’s.

The couple met at a bar two years ago and were first spotted in public together at a private Kings of Leon concert in October 2016. Glusman intended to propose in Paris, but ended up popping the question at home in their living room in February. “He nailed it,” Kravitz said. “I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home, in sweatpants. I can be my weirdest self around him.” She added, “It’s so relaxing to be around someone where you can be a hundred percent how you feel.”

Kravitz will return for the second season of Big Little Lies, premiering in 2019 on HBO.
