I love working with interfaith couples as they navigate ways to bring meaningful Judaism into their wedding and their marriage. I always seek to offer a non-judgmental presence, meeting couples where they are, and helping them craft a ceremony that will be right for them, guided by tradition and by their unique values and needs. I believe passionately that Judaism can be a powerful tool for meaning-making in our contemporary world, and I aim to help couples (and their guests!) connect meaningfully with Jewish ritual, regardless of their faith or cultural background. While I am ordained a rabbi, I also serve a musical role in my community, and offer singing and guitar alongside my rabbinic duties should couples so choose.
Open to discussing having elements of other religious faiths at the lifecycle event
Requires pre-marital counseling
On counseling: my preferred standard is to work with couples for 4 sessions in the several months prior to their wedding. Three of these typically focus on counseling, with one of them dedicated to ceremony planning. I do occasionally relax this standard for special circumstances, but strongly recommend pre-marital counseling to all couples, regardless of faith background. On co-officiation: I consider all co-officiation requests (for any lifecycle event) on a case-by-case basis.

We were so lucky to find Rabbi Max on 18Doors.org. My wife and I are a mixed religion marriage and we were very concerned with finding someone to marry us. I'm Jewish and my wife is not and we wanted to make sure that, although we were gonna have Jewish ceremony, that my wife did not feel alienated at all. Rabbi Max curbed all of our fears and we could not have been happier with how our ceremony turned out. Rabbi Max took the time to really get to know us over multiple counseling sessions, which found to be incredibly enlightening and helpful. We received so many compliments on how beautiful of a service Rabbi Max conducted. My wife and I can't thank him enough for making our ceremony exactly what we wanted. It truly was the best of our lives, and a lot of that had to do with Rabbi Max
