Our Big Tent: Sukkot for Diverse Jewish Couples & Families – Online

September 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Join Rabbi Denise Handlarski from 18Doors and Lauren Sasaki Schreiber from Jewish& for a program that takes the traditional Sukkot idea of the “ushpizin,” the “guests,” and invites us to think about how we create inclusive homes, communities and lives. This program celebrates diversity in all its forms—from interfaith to “interfaithless,” folks who are of color, queer/trans, Mizrahi/Sephardi/Ashkenazi and beyond. Our tent this Sukkot is getting really wide. Let’s celebrate!

Meet Rabbi Denise Handlarski

Rabbi Denise Handlarski is the founder and spiritual leader of the online community Secular Synagogue and the author of “The A-Z of Intermarriage” published by New Jewish Press/University of Toronto Press. She also works as a Jewish Doula and a university professor for teacher candidates. Denise is delighted to be a Rukin Rabbinic Fellow; she loves speaking to couples and families about how to create a dynamic and meaningful cultural life.

Cosponsored by Secular Synagogue and Jewish&
