We’re in love with love!
Ahead of Loving Day, join us for a Kabbalat Shabbat service celebrating all kinds of racially and ethnically diverse Jewish couples and families! Jewish diversity manifests across multiple generations, in self-described religious, secular, and interfaith families, and in every geographic corner of the Jewish community.
Only 50 years ago, the landmark Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia legalized interracial marriage throughout the United States. Mildred and Richard Loving demanded and won the right to live as an ordinary, everyday, loving couple, just like the families we will celebrate for this special Shabbat. This upcoming celebration will bring together their stories while connecting us with the tunes and prayers of thousands of years of tradition.
Join Be’chol Lashon and 18Doors, Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, One Table, Honeymoon Israel, PJ Library, Free Synagogue of Flushing, Or Shalom Jewish Community, and Ketubah.com for this unique celebration of our community’s diversity.

Meet Tani Prell
Tani is dedicated to fostering inclusive Jewish spaces. As the Chicago Community Director, she loves partnering with couples, families, and individuals to bring sparks of Jewish joy into their lives. Tani’s career has been centered on education, Judaism, and the arts, with a commitment to inclusion and belonging present throughout. In her spare time Tani enjoys spending time with her partner, Charles, and her cat, Winston. They are a family of sci-fi enthusiasts, Chicago outdoor brunch connoisseurs, and lovers of all things art.
