Tashlich Together: Relationship Reflection for the New Year (Chicago)

October 2 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CDT

Free

We will gather together with other interfaith couples to share in the Rosh Hashanah ritual of tashlich that we’ll customize along the way. In Hebrew, tashlich means “casting off” and saying goodbye to the parts of ourselves we want to leave behind, reflect on, apologize for and move past in the year ahead. It’s a time of reflection, calm and in our case, community.

After we toss pebbles in the lake for the tashlich ritual, we’ll spend time together on the beach enjoying each other’s company. There will also be opportunities for couples to reflect on their past year together and make intentions for the year ahead.

18Doors’ Chicago Community Director Tani Prell along with Temple Sholom’s Rabbi Rena Singer and SHALVA’s Director of Community Education Jordyn Scorpio look forward to welcoming you to and guiding you through this gathering. Dogs are welcome!

Questions? Don’t hesitate to reach out to Tani at tani@18doors.org!

We take everyone’s health, safety, and comfort seriously. All adult event participants must be fully vaccinated. Please see the registration page for more details.

Her main focus is on sharing Seven Circles, a new self-guided healthy relationship program for Jewish couples in their 20’s and 30’s, with our community. Her passion for educating and promoting healthy relationships aligns with her dream of seeing a completely safe and loving Jewish community here in Chicago and beyond. Jordyn moved to Chicago from New York in 2019 and while she misses a good NYC bagel, she loves the lake and exploring new neighborhoods.
