You’re looking for support with a lifecycle event, you want to find inclusive Jewish connections in Atlanta or you want to meet other interfaith couples or families at your life stage. You came to the right place: We’re here to support you. We have non-judgmental rabbis on staff to help guide and connect you.
You're engaged--mazel tov (congratulations!)! In this workshop, you'll get to meet other Jewish-interfaith couples planning their weddings and have access to 18Doors staff members who've planned their own Jewish-interfaith weddings. We'll go over the "how tos" of finding an officiant, determining the elements that make a wedding Jewish, and brainstorming how to customize a ceremony that reflects both you and your partner's identities.
Join 18Doors for a Passover Plate Party where interfaith couples will both learn the significance of seder plate items for Passover and paint their own seder plate. Each couple will come away with their own unique Passover plate and new friends. Snacks will be provided.
Join 18Doors and other local Atlanta Jewish organizations for the 2nd annual Purim in the Park for a fabulous celebration of Purim in North Decatur. There will be activities and performances for all ages followed by a parade around the park. In line with Purim celebrations, costumes are heavily encouraged!
Being part of an interfaith/Jew-ish/multi-faith/however-you-define-yourself couple can be challenging, but you don’t need to find the answers alone. This online workshop offers a safe environment to work on creating your religious/cultural lives together. It is intended for seriously dating, engaged, and newly married couples in their 20s and 30s.
Are you leading a Passover seder this year (perhaps for the first time)? Whether you’re leading a small seder or a large one, we have the tools you need to feel confident creating a seder that’s right for your interfaith, intercultural or mixed-heritage family. Join 18Doors for learning, conversation and questions, including basic elements of leading a seder and suggesting different Haggadot (books to lead you through the ritual meal).
For interfaith couples and families, what does celebrating both Passover and Easter holidays look like? We may look forward to the spring holidays and feel anxiety about the tensions they bring with them at the same time. Join 18Doors Rukin Rabbinic Fellow Rabbi Stephanie, who herself grew up in an interfaith family, for advice on navigating this time of year with compassion and understanding.
As grandparents of interfaith families, our Passover seders and traditions may look different now than they did many years ago. Join 18Doors' Rabbi Malka Packer-Monroe and fellow grandparents of interfaith families to revisit Passover through a new lens! We'll discuss the universally accessible themes of Passover, best practices for engaging our adult children and grandchildren of different faith backgrounds, and have time to build community with other grandparents across North America.
Rabbi Malka Packer-Monroe is our director of 18Doors Atlanta. She runs events for couples to socialize and discuss relevant issues, and workshops to reflect on your backgrounds, differences and similarities and discuss your hopes, plans and dreams for the future. She is also available for one-on-one consultations and to refer you to local Jewish clergy and organizations that welcome interfaith/intercultural couples and families. Contact her at atlanta@18Doors.org.
